Névé

Névé refers to a layer of snow that has been partially melted and then refrozen primarily at the accumulation area of a glacier, snow that is not yet ice, but is consolidated and granular. Eventually this snow will be compacted into ice, and become part of the glacier. Although névé is dense, settled snow, and may have layers of ice embedded within it, it is still permeable.

Nivation is the process of alternative freeze and thaw by which fallen snow gets converted into mass of ice.

As we go through our daily lives in an attempt to exert positive forces on the world around us, it is nice to be reminded occasionally of the summation and influence of our actions.

All of our individual efforts eventually combine into a force that is capable of changing and shaping the world around us.

Let us take this time to reflect on everything we have learned this summer season and use those experiences to strengthen and brighten our community.

Please take a moment before you come to the event to gather your thoughts and emotions, attempt to bring with you only the most positive and powerful experiences of this past season.
